Beau Everett Klug
Born December 10, 2021 at 3:52 pm
7lbs 6oz, 20 inches long
Beau surprised us by coming 8 days early. My due date was December 18 but I was expecting a Christmas baby. The nurse told us they have lots of babies come during a snowstorm because of the charge in barometric pressure. We got 13 inches of snow the day Beau was born. My water broke at 4:30 am on December 10th. We called the hospital and they told us we could take our time so we showered, picked up around the house, Ben sent a few work emails, and I painted my nails. We got to the hospital around 7:00 am and they were ready for us. I was still very comfortable at this point. It was only a few hours before I was fully dilated and ready to push. 24 minutes later, Beau came shooting out into the world. I couldn't believe it when they placed this small, foreign baby on my chest. There he was, so perfect.
I am so thankful for amazing nurses and Ben who advocated for me when I needed it. I feel very fortunate to have had a comfortable pregnancy and quick labor and delivery.
It has been almost 5 months and we have this perfect, happy baby. I still can't believe he is our's and that he was ever so small.
These "Fresh 48" photos we took at the hospital are some of my favorite photos of Beau. I knew I wanted the photos to really reflect our time at the hospital so I didn't bring any special little outfits or swaddles. We kept him in the little hospital onesie and blanket. These are the moments I already look back at and wish they would have lasted longer. I am so thankful for these photos of my perfect baby.
I also captured a little video while we were at the hospital. I have watched these clips over and over the last few months. I can't believe how little he was.
